Placerita Junior High School is served by four highly qualified school counselors
that work with students
Mrs. Bartolovich (Attitude, Pacesetters, Excellence 7th)
Mrs. Rendon (Adventures, Pathfinders, Excellence 8th)
Mrs. Malkowski (Fusion, Quest)
Mrs. Murray Counseling Secretary
Counselors are here to address students' social/emotional, academic, and career needs!
Students will see us on campus, in the halls, in our offices, and even in classrooms
doing group guidance presentations! Our offices are a safe place where students feel
supported and welcome. Every day, students face challenges; tough
classes, peer pressure, as well as family and personal concerns.
At Placerita, one of our goals is to help students through these challenges.

How We Help!
The Placerita counseling department offers a comprehensive program that focuses on academic, career, and personal development. We meet with students at various times during the school year to review progress toward promotion and reaching their goals. Each counselor works with specific teams to monitor student success. If a student wants to meet with a counselor, we encourage him/her to come to email their counselor or fill out the request form on this website above. In addition to working with students, we are also available to work with parents and teachers. We have found when students are having academic, behavioral, emotional, or social difficulties, collaboration between the teacher, counselor and parents is often most helpful for students.
Confidentiality Statement:
The rules of confidentiality are different from those of teachers and other school staff. Confidentiality is important to maintain a trusting relationship with students. Information is never disclosed to other staff, parents, or students unless permission to do so is granted, or if the information given is deemed crucial to a child’s safety or well being. CA ED CODE 49602
Encourage your student to visit regularly, and reach out to a friendly counselor. Parents: feel free to call or email a counselor with questions or concerns. Our secretary, Ms. Murray can direct your call. 661-259-1551
